Spring ’21 Overview

Overview:

As everyone knows our normal Fall ’20 volleyball season was canceled due Covid-19. In response the WCAC has modified the 2020-2021 athletic seasons to run in the following sequence: Winter(December 10, 2020 to February 12, 2021)- Fall (February 15, 2021 to April 10, 2021) – Spring (April 12 to June 19).

Many of you are currently playing club volleyball and these workouts, and of course the actual season itself, could conflict wth your club practices and tournaments. In additon, those of you playing club will be able to attend these workouts as per a change in the policy related to Out-of-School Activites Update of January 6 released by the Head of School. Pleae take a moment to read this important update. While we encourage you to attend if possible, they will not be mandatory. It is important that you keep your priorities in the proper order: family, academics and then volleyball. Attendance at these workouts will not affect your standing in tryouts.

PRESEASON WORKOUTS: Workouts will run from 1:30pm to 3:30pm each Sunday. Players may be dropped off around the circle behind the football field and will enter through the doors there. The gate in front of the football field will not be open. Parents are asked to park in the parking lot closest to the track as your daughters will exit where they are dropped off and walk up the hill to the parking lot to be picked up. These workouts are open to all PVI students interested in playing volleyball.

All players who attend must have on file the following forms listed below. You can download each form by clicking on it. To verify you have already submitted these forms you can email Coach Farrar.

  1. Current PVI Physical Form dated after May 1 2020
  2. PVI 4 Part Form
  3. “New” Covid Agreement and Pledge updated Jan-20 (This agreement supecedes any previous Covid Form, please bring this form to your first workout.)

Workout Sign-Up Sheet: In order to help us plan workouts we ask that each player use this signup sheet. You may still attend a workout if you haven’t signed up but we strongly encourage you to do so.

Tryouts: Our intent is field all 3 teams; Varsity, JV and Freshmen. Tryout schedules and details are being worked on and will be announced within the next few weeks.

Schedule: We are permitted to play 2 matches per week, for a total of 12, from Feb 22 through Apr 11. The specific schedule is currently being developed. Please refer to the Schedule Page for current schedules.
